Dr. Qian is named the first ever conductor of the GDYO clarinet choir. The Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra Clarinet Choir is the newest member of the GDYO family. It is scheduled to premier in the Fall of 2022 to provide music education and performance opportunities for Clarinetists with demonstrated musical ability. Students audition each spring before a panel of judges with scales, solos and orchestral excerpts. The GDYO Clarinet Choir performs three concerts annually where they are introduced to a large variety of repertoire. Many of the CSRA students have been regular members of the GDYO program. Last year alone (2021-2022), two of the four clarinetists from GDYO top orchestra were Dr.Qian's students. Two of the four bass clarinetists were also from the CSRA. June 6, 2022
