Dear Clarinet, Saxophone, and flute Students and Parents:

Thank you for visiting my private studio page.  It doesn't matter who you are and why you want to study, I will help you to reach your full potential!

While teaching at St. Olaf and Baylor University with extraordinary results and excellent external reviews, I started my private teaching studio in 2016 with only one high school student from the Dallas area.   Since then, I’ve found that one of my passions is teaching younger students, even from the beginning level.

My pre-college students have won many honors and prizes, including the Minnesota Orchestra’s Young Artist Concerto Competition, first chair in the Texas Music Educators Association’s 6A All-State Symphonic Band, and featured young soloist on NPR’s “From the Top” radio show. In 2020, FIVE of six of my 6A high school students are All-State players, including one bass clarinetist who is ranked No. 2.   In 2021, One of my students won the third prize of the 2021 Clareidoscope Clarinet Competition ( High School Division) hosted by the International Clarinet Association.

Many of these successful students started their first lessons with me when they were in middle school. Some lessons take place online, due to limitations of weather, health, and distance.

If you are an older musician preparing for college admission or professional orchestral auditions,  I can help you as well.  Two of my college students won Grand Prizes in the 2015 and 2016 International Clarinet Association Orchestral Excerpts Competitions (in Spain and in the U.S.A.), and others have been selected to study at major festivals and graduate schools.

I am also good at working with young children as well as adults in the band or the lesson setting.    Join us!!!
